Cameron Jerome celebrates his spectacular goal.
Cameron Jerome celebrates his spectacular goal.

Ok it’s Liverpool again. The early morning match between Liverpool and Birmingham City shouldn’t catch much attention but this time around, it was different. Everybody stayed through the night or woke up early in the morning just to know will Liverpool extend its current miserable form. Well, it was definitely worth it. Liverpool has lost 6 matches in 8 games before coming to this match. But well,  as we know, Liverpool was lucky to come away with a draw thanks to a “dive” by Ngong. Just to take a few funny quotes after the macth:

“It’s a joke,” said the former Evertonian Carsley and current Birmingham City’s captain. “I’m sure he’s (the referee) got a family member named Boumsong. If I went home having done something like that, I’d be embarrassed.”

Well, actually the referee does have a cousin named Jean-Alain Boumsong. LOL.

Benitez concurred: “We had a penalty that maybe wasn’t a penalty but we deserve to score. I was asking [Ngog] and he said maybe it wasn’t [a penalty].”

So did he mean that Liverpool deserve to score by diving to get a penalty? Well, it seems to me the answer is a certain yes judging from Benitez’s comment. :)

These two funny comments after the match really made my day. After all, to those who missed the match, you can watch it here.

Well, the most anticipating match of the season kicked off a few hours ago. Somehow I managed to watch it via streaming on my pc. It is indeed a not-so-exciting-and-classic match that we expected but somehow it produced a bit of sparks throughout the match. I think Chelsea had the better edge against Man Utd but then Man Utd had a few good chances as well. Overall, Sir AF has the right to complain the referee but he has to put this in his mind that Evans clearly used his studs to hit on Drogba’s chest but got away with it. Ironically, Drogba was booked for that. LOL.

After all, it is still too early to say who is going to win this season, Chelsea has a few players away from African Nation Cup this January, they might slip up but the real contenders for EPL crown at the moment are Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester United. Arsenal is slowly gaining momentum now and the young Gunners are playing exciting football now, hopefully they will continue their form and pose a great challenge to both Chelsea and Manchester United. :) Hope to see more of this soon!

Here is the only goal by John Terry just in case if you missed the match last night. Cheers!
