First of all, Happy New Year everyone! We can kiss goodbye to 2009, what a year it has been! 2009 is a year which so many celebrities passed away and also some catastrophic events taken place. Hopefully 2010 will be a better year as it is a new decade.

We went to Circular Quay at 12.30pm noon and then we set up our picnic spot at about 1pm. After that, we have to sit there for 11 hours till 12am. Is it worth the wait? Tell you later. By the way, we spent our time playing poker, monopoly and etc. Well, we played monopoly for almost 5hours, unbelievable. After all, we don’t have much thing to do while waiting. The weather is unpredictable just like women, raining and sunny but all of us were used to it so no big deal for us. Patience is a virtue. At about 3.30pm, opera house is closed to visitors as it is totally full, they don’t want to sink the Opera House. All the visitors and travellers were tired of waiting, and even a beach ball could make the crowd going. lol. At 9pm sharp, there is a 8-minute family fireworks so that the family with kids could go hope early after the 9pm fireworks. Guess what, of course nobody will leave as they have been waiting for so long, it was just another 3hours of wait before the grand fireworks.

At 11pm, everyone stood up and looked for a good spot to see the fireworks. Before that, in between every hour, there is a small fireworks to remind us how long we still have to wait. The moment that we all have been waiting finally arrived, the grand fireworks start at 12am without any proper countdown (yes, it was so lame!), the fireworks are not only from Harbour Bridge but also from Opera House and Royal Botanical Garden. 12 minutes of fireworks but almost 11 hours of waiting, the fireworks had to be great but somehow it disappoint us, it was not as good as last year and the year before. I was like, “Is that it?”, apparently the money is not well spent and the waiting time is not worth it at all. After all, it is the last year for me in Sydney so I don’t really mind.
